New Hampshire Civil War Items Sold for $840
WOLFEBORO, NH - On Saturday, November 10th, Auctioneer Frank Sykes of Antiquebug in Wolfeboro New Hampshire offered numerous selections of New Hampshire historical memorabilia as well as 7 pieces of Hampshire Pottery gleaned from 2 New Hampshire estates.
An important document signed by one of Wolfeboro's most famous Veterans, Captain Alvah Libby of the 18th NH Volunteers will be part of a Civil War lot to be sold November 10th. "Signed May 28, 1865 in Fort Sumner Maryland granting permission for several of his soldiers to visit the 18th NH Volunteers and return this day." Also, a framed NH Vol. Soldier Memorial featuring many other citizens from Holderness, Gilford, Rumney, Laconia, Moultonborough, Plymouth, Freedom, Madison, Portsmouth, Northfield, New Castle, Gilmanton, Canterbury, Albany, Loudon, Dorchester, Eaton, Bridgewater, Alexandria. Also comes with a tin type of Alvah Libby and a Cabinet photo of Alvah Libby with a 3 cent stamp on the back. All of this comes from the same Northfield New Hampshire attic along with a Civil War era canteen.

The Victorian Architectural Pediment is from the turn of the century and was on St. Cecilia's Catholic Church having been recently removed during a transformation to a performing arts center for Brewster Academy. This beautiful piece sold for $220.
This sign sold for $785. It was from the famed roller skating rink and restuarant which graced the waterfront in Alton Bay for many years. The Alton Bay Pavillion burned last winter making this sign more desirable then ever as it was found at an Antiques Show in Tennesee after traveling from NH to Ohio and then brought home to the area to be sold here. This is a good example of how regional antiques sell best in the region from where they originated.
